The Girls' Glee Club was organized at the beginning of the school year with a membership of twenty-six. The girls are very much interested, and we are hoping this interest will materialize into a music program for the entire school. We know that music is in its infancy in our school, but more and more we are realizing the importance of the subject. Public school music is a part of the grade curriculum. The children of the grades are taught to sing and to appreciate good music, and as a result when they reach high school they will be capable of doing better work in chorus, glee club, and other music courses.

Music is a universal language. It lends itself to a human form of activity more than any other subject, and it arouses a common social feeling. Through the enjoyment of music may be developed emotional tones in the individual which affects his attitudes toward every form of activity. Schools must train our youth to use their leisure time. Dr. Mursell, a great phychologist, has said, "What is worthwhile for leisure activity which will shape up many social contacts; which will mold life toward greater effectiveness; which will determine the social personality; all these values are possessed in music."
