Lebanon Junction Basketball Team in 1931

The following is taken from The Courier-Journal, 10 Mar 1931.

Lebanon Junction High School Cagers
Champions of Fourteenth District Tournament

When the Fourth Regional net meet opens here Friday, the Lebanon Junction boys, shown above, will be in ghe thick of the fight for honors. Although they are Class B., they are considered possible tournament victors. In the Fourteenth District championship match last week they beat Shepherdsville, Class A champ, by 24 to 12 for their first win over Shepherdsville cagers in the history of the schools. The team is the first from Lebanon Junction to win district honors. It is managed by C. W. Campbell, who is rounding out his first year as superintendent of schools there, and is coached by W. C. Willis, who is in his first year as mentor of the team.

Those in the group, reading from the left, are: Back Row - Coach Willis, Ed Thompson, Raymond Fallis, and Professor Campbell; Middle Row - J. B. Clark, Captain J. P. Pipes, Joe Rexroat and Francis Beeler; Bottom Row - W. B. Rexroat and Rex Muth.

The team would make it to the Regional finals before falling to a strong duPont Manual team.
