Shepherdsville Trustees to John Collin - Lot 58 (New Plan)

On 26 Jun 1797, the Shepherdsville trustees deeded lot 3 in the old town plan to John Collins as heir to James Collins. This would become known as lot 58 in the new plan drawn up by James Shanks. At Collins' death the lot was devised to Harmon Greathouse who sold it to Henry Jones.

This indenture made this 26th day of June in the year of our Lord 1797 between Michael [Troutman], Frederick Panebaker, John Essery, and Benjamin Stansbury, gentlemen now acting trustees for the town of Shepherdsville of the one part and John Collin, heir to James Collin dec'd, of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the other part.

Witness that for and in consideration of the sum of eleven pounds, five shillings current money to them in hand paid, have and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the saidd John Collin, heir to James Collin dec'd, and his heirs and assigns a certain lot of land known in the plat and plan of said town lot number three containing __.

To have and to hold the said lot of ground with its appurtenances unto the said John Collin, heir to James Collin dec'd, and his heirs and assigns to their only proper use and behoof forever; and the said trustees for themselves and their successors the said lot of land with the appurtenances unto the said John Collin, heir to James Collin dec'd, shall and will forever warrant and defend against all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming by or from them or any of them, subject nevertheless to the conditions and forfeitures prescribed by the Act of Assembly establishing said town.
