This indenture made this third day of March and the year of our Lord, 1817 between James Alexander, John Graham and James Halbert, who are acting trustees of the town of Shepherdsville, of the one part, and Thomas MaGee of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Thomas McGee has produced from Adam Shepherd, the proprietor of the land on which said town hath been laid off and established on order in the following works and figures, to wit. "To the Trustees of Shepherdsville according to the application of Thomas McGee, I do hereby certify that I have received the consideration money for lot No. 5, a corner lot opposite Donaldson's on Main Steet, a corner lot leading to courthouse in the town of Shepherdsville, fronting Water Street, and you are authorized to make said McGee a good deed accordingly. Adam Shepherd."

And by virtue of the act of assembly establishing said town and this indenture, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the premises we the said James Alexander, John Graham and James Halbert, Trustees as aforesaid, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, and set over unto the said Thomas McGee and his heirs forever all that part of lot No. 5 in the old plan of said town and No. 56 in the new plan of said town which lies within the following bounds, to wit.

Beginning at the southeast corner of the original half acre lot fronting Water Street, running thence the course of the original lot to the corner of James Burk's part of said lot, thence with Burks' line N 83 1/2° West to the lot now owned by Elizabeth Crow [Lot 55], thence with her lot S 6 1/2° West to the corner of her lot fronting Water Street, thence with the street S 83 1/2° East to the beginning.

To have and to hold the said lot or parcel of land and all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Thomas McGee, his heirs and assigns, to and for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. In witness whereof the said Trustees have set their hands and seals the day and year just above written. (signed by trustees)
