Samuel Smyth to Henry Countriman - 200 Acres

On 9 Mar 1791, Samuel Smyth sold 200 acres of land along Wilson's Creek to Henry Countriman which appears to be a part of Smyth's 400 acre tract that he had surveyed for himself on 8 Sep 1783. The deed from Smyth to Countriman is shown below.

This indenture made the ninth day of March in the year of our Lord 1791 between Samuel Smyth of the county of Nelson and state of Virginia of the one part and Henry Countriman of the aforesaid county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Samuel Smyth for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge, have given, granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, endorse and confirm unto the said Henry Countriman and to his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres, being part of a four hundred acre tract patented to the said Samuel Smyth bearing date the ninth day of May 1786, lying and being in the County of Nelson on the waters of Wilson's Creek adjoining Georege Wilson's preemption and bounded as follows (to wit). Beginning at a hickory and dogwood corner to the said preemption running thence with his line South 57° West 130 poles to a walnut and swamp oak, thence North 33° West 253 poles to a white oak and beech, thence North 57° East 130 poles to a white oak and dogwood, thence South 40° East 253 poles to the beginning to have and to hold the said tract of land with its appurtenances to te said Henry Countriman and his heirs forever to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Henry Countriman and his heirs forever, and the said Samuel Smyth do further covenant and agree to and with the said Henry Countriman that he will forever warrant and defend the aforesaid tract of land with the appurtenances unto the said Henry Countriman, his heirs against the claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever.
