Lloyd Wilcoxon to James Caldwell - 92 3/4 acres

On 28 Dec 1811, Lloyd Wilcoxon of Nelson County sold 92 3/4 acres on the waters of Long Lick Creek to James Caldwell that was said to border lands owned by Paul Froman and Weathers King.

This indenture made this twenty-eighth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven between Lloyd Wilcoxon of the county of Nelson and State of Kentucky of the one part and James Caldwell of the county of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Lloyd Wilcoxon for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid before the signing and sealing of these presents, the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained, granted and sold, aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said James Caldwell, his heirs and assigns, forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing ninety-five and three-fourth acres, lying and being in Bullitt County on the waters of Long Lick Creek, and bounded as followeth, to wit.

Beginning at two beeches in Paul Froman's second line, thence North 5° West with said line 210 poles to two small beeches near the road, thence North 50° West 28 poles to a beech standing on the south side of the main road marked R.C.A.S., thence North 82° East 110 poles to a white oak on the north side of the road and on the west side of a small drain, thence South 40° West 87 poles to Weathers King's corner, a poplar and two beeches, thence South 50° East 131 poles with Weathers King's line to two dogwood, thence South 55° West 138 poles to the beginning.

To have and to hold the said tract of 92 3/4 acres of land, be the same more or less, with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said James Caldwell, his heirs and assigns, to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said Lloyd Willcoxon for himself and his heirs do covenant and agree to and with the said James Caldwell, his heirs and assigns, that they will warrant and forever defend the said 92 3/4 acres of land, with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said James Caldwell, his heir and assigns, against the claim or claims of him the said Lloyd Willcoxon and his heirs and all and every them and against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever In witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date first above written. Bullitt County Sct. I Frederic William Spence Grayson, clerk of the count court in and for the county aforesaid, do hereby certify that on the 28th day of December 1811 the within indenture was acknowledge by Lloyd Willcoxon to be his voluntary act and that I have recorded the said indenture together with this certificate in my office as required by law.
