N. B. Small to Shepherdsville Iron Manufacturing Company

On 20 Sep 1852, N. B. Small deeded 350 acres of land to the Shepherdsville Iron Manufacturing Company based on a bond entered into in 1848. This land lay to the northwest of the forge tracts, and was likely obtained for its remaining timber.

This indenture made this 20th day of September 1852 between N. B. Small of Bullitt County, Kentucky of the one part and the Shepherdsville Iron Manufacturing Company of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Small for and in consideration of the sum of $381 to him paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold and by these presents bargains and sells unto the said Shepherdsville Iron Manufacturing Company the following described tracts of land lying in the county of Bullitt, Kentucky on the waters of Bullitt's Lick run, being part of William Christian's 2000 acre survey, one tract bounded as follows, to wit, on the northeast by Mrs. Dunn, on the east by John Chaddic, on the south by the heirs of B. Stansberry dec'd; the other tract bounded by Christian's line of his 2000 acre survey, Stansberry on the east, Isaac Moore on the west, and Christian's survey of 1000 acres on the southeast; containing by estimate of survey 350 acres of land, be the same more or less.

To have and to hold the said tracts of land to the party of the second part and their successors and assigns forever together with all the appurtenances thereto belonging. And the said Small covenants to and with the second party to warrant the title to said tracts of land and he hereby warrants the same to said second party against himself, his heirs and all claiming under him and against the title of William Congrove, A. C. Kinecen(?) and William Jones and all claiming under them but no further. This deed is executed in fulfilment of a bond given to said company for said land on the 9th of February 1848. I Robert F. Samuels, clerk of the court for the county aforesaid, do certify that on the 27th day of September 1852 this deed from N. B. Small to the Shepherdsville Iron Manufacturing Company was produced to me in my office and acknowledged by said Small to be his act and deed.
