The History Museum will reopen back to normal operations on Tuesday, June 1st. This will include opening the display rooms and the old Stone jail back to their normal operation an hours. Also, starting Saturday, June 19, the Genealogical Society will restart their monthly meetings which will be held at 10:00 AM in the Bullitt County Fiscal Court Room in the Courthouse.

As we add new pages or update information to this web site, we will list the changes here.

The Bullitt County Genealogical Society is sponsoring, compiling and publishing a new book, Bullitt County, Kentucky – History & Families, Vol. II.

This book will include the history of our county including family histories, communities, churches, schools, businesses, farms, memorials, tributes, clubs, organizations, and much more! It is important that every family in the county be included in this historic publication.

The Bullitt County History Museum, a service of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is located in the county courthouse at 300 South Buckman Street (Highway 61) in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The museum, along with its research room, is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday. Admission is free. The museum, as part of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and is classified as a 509(a)2 public charity.
